The 2016 Jester One Music Top 20 Countdown - #7

#7 - Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling!

Justin Timberlake definitely brings the highest credentials to our countdown this year. We all know about N'sync, at the very least. Timberlake as a solo artist has surprisingly only released 3 full length LPs, and stopped making music from 2006-20012 to focus on his acting career. That acting career jet-propelled him into even higher fame, as if he needed it. All 3 of his albums have at least gone platinum and have had multiple #1 songs. His resume notwithstanding, he seems like a legitimately cool guy and he makes really good music everywhere he goes.

The amazing thing about all of that is that "Can't Stop The Feeling" might be his best song yet. It's upbeat, it's catchy, it's a ton of fun, and it's featured in an animated film. All of those combined give you a #1 debut, over 4 million copies sold, and a chart ascension that placed him #1 in an absurd 32 different charts including (just in the US) Top 40, Adult Contemporary, Dance Club, Dance/Show Mix, and Mainstream Top 40. Give me a minute to catch my breath here.... see what I mean? Dude is an unstoppable force. "Can't Stop The Feeling" is just a wonderful song, and it's accompanied by a wonderful video to boot. JT travels across America to normal, every day locations and sings and dances with normal, every day people along with the song. It's really an interesting slice of life shown on a huge stage. Although his last album didn't chart, I'm looking forward to whatever comes next with him.

  1. It seems like this song got a ton of hate, but I'm not entirely sure why. It's fun.

Plus, we have this video of Caleb in the car bobbing his head in time with the beat, so it gets points from me based on that, too.

    1. I'm pretty sure at this point in his career, JT can do whatever he wants. There were a few tracks on 20/20 that I kind of turned my nose up towards, but they're all great. He just has "it".
